PERRY TOWNSHIP — A Polk man was killed on Sunday afternoon in a motorcycle crash in Ashland County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The driver of the motorcycle, Ethan Michael Stadler, 23, was pronounced deceased at the scene, the Patrol reported.
Troopers say the incident took place at 12:44 p.m. on County Road 1302, west of State Route 89 in Ashland County.
According to the Patrol, a 2009 Harley Davidson Sportster motorcycle was westbound on County Road 1302 when it went off the roadway to the right and struck a traffic sign prior to overturning and ejecting the driver.
The Patrol stated Stadler was wearing his helmet at the time of the crash.
County Road 1302 was closed for approximately two hours to process the scene.
Other agencies assisting at the crash scene were: Polk-Jackson Fire and EMS, the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office and the Ashland County Coroner’s Office.
Drugs and alcohol are not considered to be factors in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
