ASHLAND -- Associated Charities of Ashland Ohio recently received a Community Grant of $1,000 from the Walmart Community Grants Team and local Facility #1448.
This grant will help fund the Summer Fresh Food program offered to the local community. By receiving these funds, Associated Charities is part of a history of Walmart’s commitment to give back to the communities where they operate.
Mrs. Helen Walton used to say "It's not what you gather, but what you scatter that tells what kind of life you have lived."
Additionally, grant money of $1,500 was received from the Mohican Area Community Fund to purchase new articles of clothing and winter coats for Kids Closet.
“This funding allows us to assist in the efforts to help those in the southern part of Ashland County – we are very grateful for this opportunity.” stated Chris Box, Executive Director of Associated Charites.
Funding was also received from Ashland County Community Foundation, Women’s Fund, in the amount of $500 for the purchase of back to school shoes for the children of Ashland County.
The Barbasol Foundation of The Columbus Foundation also recently sponsored a $5,000 grant to support the efforts of Associated Charities and the Ashland County Food Bank. These funds will provide much needed food for Ashland County during the upcoming holiday season. For 75 years, Barbasol has partnered with communities to help strengthen and improve lives, through the most effective philanthropy possible.
