Position Summary

The Account Executive focuses on selling advertising packages for Knox Pages including digital display ads, e-newsletter ads, sponsored content and native content and section sponsorships. The Account Executive may also sell into other Source Media Properties publications, such as Richland Source and Ashland Source.

Key Position Results

  • Lead new prospects through the sales process with equal attention to customer acquisition, management and retention.

  • Meet sales activity goals that will include calls, emails, meetings, notes and proposals.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Using inbound and outbound methods, set meetings with prospects and lead them through the sales process.

    • Generate call lists and leads through various sources - LinkedIn, Chamber of Commerce lists, networking events, personal observation, past client lists, existing database.

    • Take calls and meetings with inbound leads that come through either the Knox Pages site or Source Brand Solutions campaigns.

  • Learn the Source Media Properties media kit which includes digital display ads, e-newsletter ads, sponsored content and native content, and section sponsorships. Be able to intelligently discuss each section of the media kit and recommend solutions the further a company’s goals.

  • Generate proposals using Proposify software.

  • Schedule regular communication and reporting for all clients.

  • Learn fundamental best practices of digital marketing.

  • Understand and apply the StoryBrand and Sandler Sales methodologies.

  • Be committed to ongoing professional development.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Critical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 3 years of online media sales experience.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Commitment to learn and use systems, processes and identified technologies to meet goal outcomes.

  • Ability to build rapport, likeability and trust. Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.

  • Demonstrate good judgment, critical thinking skills, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Operate proactively, with a sense of urgency and a mindset to serve our clients and internal team members.

  • Available to travel to counties included in the territory and throughout Source Media Properties footprint, and other destinations as identified and agreed upon.

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communication or a related field is preferred.

Sales Philosophy

We combine the Sandler Sales System and StoryBrand Framework to sell and deliver on marketing and advertising contracts. The candidate for this position will be trained and coached to master these systems.

Sales Territories 

The candidate will focus on selling Knox Pages advertising to businesses throughout Knox County as well as parts of Delaware, Licking, Franklin and Morrow Counties. This sales team member will collaborate with teammates on cross-territory sales opportunities as they come up. The ideal candidate will live in Knox County and have familiarity with the business landscape. The candidate may work remotely with occasional in-person meetings at the company headquarters in Mansfield.

Technology

Knox Pages invests in software systems that help sales team members effectively manage sales relationships, projects and proposals. Sales team members will be trained and coached to use the industry-standard programs: Pipedrive, Proposify, Teamwork and WordPress.

Compensation and Benefits

This position includes a base salary and commission. Applicants are eligible for health, dental, and vision coverage; vacation and paid time off; paid maternity and paternity leave; technology and mobile phone reimbursement; 401(k).

Account Executives who demonstrate success and achieve defined outcomes in advertising sales have the option to move into a Digital Marketing Strategist position for Source Brand Solutions which involves creating marketing strategies for clients.
