An Ashland City Schools bus delivered flowers to local moms on Friday.

ASHLAND — Thanks to Ashland County-West Holmes Career Center (ACWHCC) and Ashland City Schools (ACS), some mother’s received a potted flower from their child for Mother’s Day.

The flowers were delivered by the Ashland City School bus drivers with lunches that were passed out on Friday.

Between the two schools, flowers, cups, time and effort were donated to plant approximately 450 flowers to be delivered. The flowers were grown (in the greenhouse) by students in the ACWHCC Agriculture program located at Ashland High School.

Normally, younger students would make a Mother’s Day gift in school to take home but that wasn’t going to happen this year due to current school closure orders.

ACWHCC and ACS came up with another idea to make sure the kids had something to give their mother and put a smile on her face.
