The Ashland City Schools Board of Education approved four new hires for the district on Monday.

ASHLAND -- Four new hires were among the topics discussed at Monday night's Ashland City School District Board of Education meeting.

The BOE approved personnel decisions for various positions around Ashland City Schools recommended by Superintendent Douglas Marrah.

Kate Bartlett was hired as the new assistant principal at Ashland High School. She was quick to express her gratitude during the meeting.

“I’m really excited about this new position,” Bartlett said. “Thank you very much!”

Barlett was hired on a three-year, 260-day contract effective Aug. 1, 2019.

Nikki Fisher was approved to be hired as the new English Language Arts Teacher at Ashland High School. Linda Hodapp was hired as Ashland High School’s newest guidance counselor. Sean Seder was also hired as interim high school football coach.

"He's working hard," Marrah said of Seder. "The kids were out there working out and lifting, so we're not missing a beat."

Seder also took time out of his schedule to reorganize the weight room, which Marrah noted to the board.

Ashland High School is currently still under renovation, with everything going according to schedule, it was reported.
