ASHLAND -- Ashland City School District has announced its last meal service schedule for the 2019-2020 school year and is encouraging families to seek summer assistance through local agencies.

Meals are planned for Tuesday, May 26 to Thursday, May 28, due to the Memorial Day Holiday. 

To allow the community's support the school district's effort to go above and beyond in providing meals for students and their families, an emergency response fund has been started through the Ashland County Community Foundation. 

The school's week-day meal service is offered in collaboration with The Kroc Center and Associated Charities.

School district organized food deliveries will end after May 29. Ashland City School families are encouraged to use the meal services at the Kroc Center and Associated Charities for assistance during the summer.

Monday May 25

No meal service.

Tuesday May 26

Meal delivery using transportation and volunteers from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Wednesday May 27

Meal pick-up at Ashland Middle School from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Thursday May 28

Meal delivery using transportation and volunteers from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Friday May 29

No meal service. 

Saturday, May 30

Matthew 25 will offer meals at the Luray Lanes Parking Lot from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Other meal service opportunities in the community: 

The Ashland Kroc Center will hold a community hot lunch drive-thru or walk up service from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday to Friday.

Ashland Kroc Center's food pantry is available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Call ahead at (419) 282-4223.

This assistance will now include the "farm to family" program, which adds elements of protein, dairy and produce.

Beginning June 8, an additional summer food program at the Kroc will start up Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Free lunch and snack carryout will be offered from noon to 12:30. It is open to all youth under 18 years of age (adult meals available).

Associated Charities' food pantry is available, too, with items for those in need. Please call ahead (419) 281-6061. Hours are 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m.
