School bus

ASHLAND -- Dave McClure, longtime head bus mechanic for the city schools, would certainly appreciate the gesture.

On Friday night, Ashland City Schools will honor McClure, who passed away on Sept. 1, 2020, with a procession of buses at 5:45 p.m. before the Ashland Arrows home football game against Mansfield Senior.

The procession will begin from the student parking lot at Ashland High School, 1440 King Road, and start northbound on King Road, making a quick left westbound on Katherine Avenue. The procession will end at the Ashland City Schools Bus Garage entrance off of Mifflin Avenue closest to the Sandalwood/Springwood Apartments.

The procession will begin at the AHS Student Parking Lot at 5:45 p.m.

"We encourage any family, friends, or organizations that Dave was involved with that would like to join the procession, be at the AHS parking lot no later than 5:25 p.m.," assistant superintendent Steve Paramore said. "We encourage any individual that would like to honor Dave McClure during the procession, line the streets of the route.

"Dave McClure gave so much of himself for the betterment of others that we feel like this is an important way to memorialize our dear employee. Thank you to all of those that can make this event meaningful and possible."

Anyone with questions should contact Steve Paramore at 419-289-4502.
