ASHLAND – Six of Ashland University’s online degree programs have been ranked among the nation’s best by Intelligent.com.
The website that identifies as a student-focused comprehensive research guide compiled its rankings based on an assessment of 1,604 accredited colleges and universities. Each program was evaluated based on curriculum quality, graduation rate, reputation and post-graduate employment.
Ashland was ranked second among all sports medicine degree programs and fifth in master’s in sports medicine degree programs.
“We are very proud of the numerous top program national recognitions we have received,” said Dr. Randall Gearhart Jr., a professor in the Department of Health Sciences. “We all work very hard to provide the best online education experience possible for students. We currently are the only graduate program in the state to have received recognition by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as meeting the tenets for their Education Recognition Program.”
The university also received a rank of 20th for its small business management courses.
“We are pleased with the recognition of the hard work our faculty has put into our world-class MBA program, especially within small business management courses,” said Elad Granot, Dean of the Dauch College of Business and Economics.
Other online programs included on the list were AU’s criminal justice degree programs, which came in 24th, its history degree programs, which were ranked 27th and its project management degree programs, which achieved a rank of 30th.
The 2020 rankings are calculated through a scoring system, which includes student engagement, potential return on investment and leading third party evaluations.
