ice cream social

ASHLAND -- The Ashland County Historical Society will have its annual ice cream social and a new “live auction" on Sunday, June 30 from 1 to 4 p.m. at 420 Center St.

This year’s event also features new activities including a “Live” Auction starting at 2 p.m., themed gift basket raffles, as well as children’s activities and free giveaways every half hour. Indians tickets, Step 2 children’s furniture, an old stained glass window from the original Trinity Lutheran Church, ski passes, Miller Ferry tickets, homemade quilts, fresh baked pies and many other items will be auctioned or raffled.

All proceeds from this family friendly event go to benefit the Ashland County Historical Society whose mission is to “Preserve the Heritage of Ashland County.”

The afternoon will also include self-guided tours through all of the buildings, and special musical entertainment by the Golden Serenaders of the Ashland Senior Citizen Center and local singer/acoustic guitar player Bill Bauer.

Special guests in the Gazebo will be the Ashland Senior Citizen Chair Caners who are always very popular as they demonstrate their skills. Homemade cake, ice cream and lemonade will be served throughout the event. Along with the Live Auction, there will be Cash & Carry tables set up with great items available and clearance prices on some gift-shop items.

There is something for everyone of every age available. The event is free and open to the public. Donations are always welcome.
