ASHLAND -- For the past 10 years the Ashland Fraternal Order of Eagles #2178 and the Ashland Eagle Riders have organized annual events to raise funds in support of Hospice of North Central Ohio.

These fundraising events have included car shows, auctions, poker runs, specialty dinners and other activities designed to generate charitable dollars to support HNCO's special mission.

HNCO representatives Tina Marie Helbert and Ralph Tomassi recently accepted two gifts totaling $7,000. These funds were received from the F.O.E. Mohican-Ashland Eagle Riders #2178 and Ohio State Eagle Charity Fund respectively.

"HNCO has long enjoyed a cordial relationship and benefitted from the generous support of this wonderful club," said Tomassi, HNCO Chief Development Officer/Senior Administrator. "Annual support from the Eagles Club has helped our non-profit hospice organization provide programs and services free of charge throughout the Ashland community.

"We are grateful for their giving hearts."

The gifts will be used to support the multitude of HNCO Bereavement programs and services in Ashland County, including Camp Hope Children's Bereavement Camp.

"Our motto is people helping people," Steve Bates said.

"We spend the entire year raising funds through events like the chicken dinner, four super bowl boards, poker run, blanket auctions (Buckeyes, Browns, party on the patio), Blackstone grill, tailgate bench, as well as selling hamburgers and hot dogs at the downtown car show."
