ASHLAND — The Ashland Christian Health Center will host its first Christmas in July fundraiser sale this weekend.

The sale will replace last year’s Santa’s Attic sale, which was cancelled due to COVID-19.

“We have everything under the sun. I call it a ‘one-of-a-kind-of-everything’ sale,” executive director Cheryl Benway said. “It’s quite a tradition now.”

The sale will be Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 380 E. Fourth St. in Ashland.

The annual Santa’s Attic sale typically takes place in November. Community members donate all kinds of Christmas decor, which the clinic sells in a garage sale-style format.

Funds go back to the health center’s efforts to serve Ashland County residents in need.

The Ashland Christian Health Center offers affordable care for those who are without insurance or who are underinsured. Patients are seen on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The organization is supported by community donations, churches and medical professionals who donate their time and services.

“The community really supports us, so we can support our neighbors,” Henway said. “We are very blessed by all the donations to us and then it allows us to be very generous to a vulnerable population that comes to the health center.”

According to the center’s website, the clinic serves patients with any general medical ailment, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, depression, abdominal pain, emphysema, asthma, headaches, sore throat or cough. The clinic can also perform general physical exams.

If a patient’s needs cannot be met, the clinic may arrange for an appropriate referral.
