Boating

Waterway officials expect 2021 to be a very busy season for boat traffic across the United States.

COLUMBUS -- Ohio offers a wide variety of boating opportunities for every taste.

Officials across the country expect this to be a very busy boating season as folks are looking to break out after the pandemic restritions are lifted.

Whether you like a quiet paddle in a canoe or kayak, an exhilarating ride on a personal watercraft, or skiing or fishing from a powerboat, there is a style for every Ohioan. With all the lakes, reservoirs, streams and rives from Lake Erie to the Ohio River, you never have to travel very far in the Buckeye state.

With that in mind, here is a closer look at the horsepower limits on Ohio waterways, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
