Oliver Vaughn, 6, lost his second tooth on a cob of corn at the 10th Annual HNCO Community Corn Roast held at the Eagles Club.

ASHLAND — Not only did the 10th Annual HNCO Community Corn Roast raise thousands of dollars for HNCO’s patients and their families, but the corn on the cob provided a special occasion for Oliver Vaughn, age 6, and Reagan Gasche, age 5, each of whom lost a tooth.

Reagan’s father Seth Gasche said, “Reagan just lost her first tooth -- she’s happy, but I’m upset about it!” He and his wife Lindsey witnessed the special event.

Reagan Gasche, 5, lost her first tooth while taking a bite of corn at the HNCO Community Corn Roast on Saturday.

Oliver Vaughn, son of Kyle and Jenise Vaughn and brother of Arienne, lost his second tooth the same way. With the help of about 30 volunteers, delicious pork and corn were cooked under beautiful skies and served to about 300 people. The event included a traditional pie auction by Richard Dilgard and live entertainment by Bill Bauer.

It was held at the Eagles Club on Eastlake Drive in Ashland.

Another highlight of the event was the presentation of a check for $10,000 from the Eagle Riders who raise money for HNCO through several fundraisers each year.

Raffle winners included Mike Law who won the Experience Ashland package; Bill Kahl and Joel Beckler who won the Go Eagles packages; Kathy Young who won the Housekeeping by Heather package; Paul Kauffman who won the Brethren Village Wellness Center package; Kim Bradley and Gwenn Rose who won Ashland YMCA memberships; and Joe Tobias, of Mansfield, who won two round-trip Southwest flights.
