ASHLAND — The Board of Directors at The Energy Cooperative Operation Round Up Foundation in Newark, Ohio has approved a grant in the amount of $1,231 for Hospice of North Central Ohio.
“Our nurses and aides are among the best equipped hospice caregivers in Ohio,” said Ralph Tomassi, Chief Development Officer at HNCO. “We simply could not purchase these special comfort care items without the generous support of charitable gifts and grants.”
The grant will be used to purchase specially designed hospice patient care items such as TREO razors from Gillette and Pain boards in English and Spanish. The Gillette TREO Razors are the first razors designed to shave someone else. They provide a level of safety, control and convenience that will allow HNCO caregivers to better facilitate the special hygiene needs of hospice patients.
The Pain Boards will help caregivers determine the level of pain being experienced by English and Spanish speaking hospice patients who are not able to verbally communicate how they feel.

“Since 2005, Operation Round Up has given over $3.5 million to charities and non-profits in east central Ohio. Cooperative members ’round up’ their bill to the nearest dollar and that amount is distributed by a board of directors that meet 6 times annually.”
