MILTON TOWNSHIP – An Ashland man suffered life-threatening injuries Friday night after a one-vehicle crash in Milton Township, according to the Ashland Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. 

Jordan Coy, 29, of Ashland, was transported by Metro Life-Flight to Akron City Hospital, authorities stated. His condition was unknown at the time of publication. 

The Patrol reported Troopers are investigating the serious injury crash involving a 2020 Jeep Wrangler that occurred at approximately 11:01 p.m. on Township Road 1153 just north of State Route 96 in Ashland County.

A 2020 Jeep Wrangler was traveling northbound on Township Road 1153 when the vehicle travelled off the right side of the roadway, striking railroad tracks and a utility pole before overturning, the Patrol reported. The driver of the Jeep was not wearing a safety belt and was ejected.

Impairment and speed are believed to be factors in the crash. The crash remains under investigation, the Patrol reported.

Township Road 1153 was closed for approximately 90 minutes. Other agencies assisting at the crash scene were: The Ashland County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Ashland Fire and EMS.
