MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP – A Canton man was killed Tuesday morning after a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of State Route 60 and County Road 1600 in Ashland County, according to the Ashland Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Randall Keith Bennett, of Canton was fatally injured after the crash which took place at approximately 10:33 a.m., the Patrol reported.

Troopers say a 2010 Toyota Corolla, driven by Patricia Lou Strickler, of Ontario, was traveling eastbound on CR 1600 when it failed to stop for a stop sign and struck a 1991 International driven by Justin C. Bradford, of Ashland.

Bradford's vehicle was traveling northbound on SR 60, went left of center and struck Bennett's vehicle, a 2020 Ford van, which was traveling southbound on SR 60, the Patrol reported.

Bradford and Bennett's vehicles both went off the west side of State Route 60 into the ditch. Bennett was fatally injured. Bradford's vehicle caught fire but he was able to get out of the vehicle with minor injuries. Strickler suffered minor injuries.

State Route 60 was closed for approximately three hours.

Other agencies assisting at the crash scene were: Ashland Fire and EMS, the Ohio Department of Transportation, the Ashland County Coroner’s Office and the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash remains under investigation.
