ASHLAND — The construction company hired by Ashland last year to pave 54 streets is back to finish the job it started in the fall.

Kokosing Construction is back in Ashland and will begin paving the remaining 19 streets soon.

There are technically 22 streets left to be repaved, but three of them — East Fifth and Eighth Street and Electric Avenue — are getting work done by Columbia Gas, Ashland Mayor Matt Miller said.

Council approved $1.7 million in 2021 for the repaving of 55 streets throughout the city. Kokosing couldn’t start the job until September because of a busy season and agreed to come back this spring to finish the job.

No new streets have been added to the original list of 54.
