Road work ahead

ASHLAND -- Ashland expects around 50 of the city's streets to receive new pavement this summer.

Mayor Matt Miller originally thought only half the amount of streets would be repaved through an ordinance that green lighted the advertising of bids for a $2.1 million project, but an updated estimate includes the names of 50 streets.

"I misspoke," he said.

But just because a street is on the list does not mean the entire thoroughfare will be repaved. Some of those might only be partially repaved, he said.

Miller expects to open bids from construction companies in June.
