ASHLAND -- Ashland authorities seized drugs, drug paraphernalia and evidence related to drug trafficking during a Wednesday morning search of an East Ninth Street residence, according to a press release issued by Ashland Police Detective Kody Hying.
The search warrant for the residence was the result of an ongoing investigation regarding possible drug trafficking, Hying said.
Police are not releasing the names of suspects at this time. Upon completion of the investigation the case will be forwarded to the Ashland County Prosecutor's Office for review.
Detectives from the Ashland Police Division and the Ashland County Sheriff's Office assigned to the METRICH Enforcement unit, along with members of the Ashland Police Division and the Ashland Special Response Team executed the search warrant.
The METRICH Enforcement Unit stated it would like to thank the community for providing tips that help lead to the successful execution of search warrants in the region. All citizens are encouraged to continue to report suspected drug activity to the local authorities.
