LOUDONVILLE -- An elderly woman with dementia was located and brought home safely Tuesday evening after law enforcement teamed up for a search, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
She was found in a "bog area" after the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office had requested the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Aviation Unit to assist in locating a missing elderly female with dementia.
A helicopter responded to the Loudonville area and shortly after arriving was able to locate the woman.
"First responders were directed to her location, and she was found safe and sound," the OHSP stated in a release. "We are thankful we could be of assistance to our law enforcement partners to help provide a positive outcome to a potentially dangerous situation."
