COLUMBUS - Agents visited the following liquor-permitted establishment on Feb. 5 and issued a citation after witnessing violations:
Line Star Entertainment, known as Planet Rock, Mansfield, received a citation for improper conduct – disorderly activity. Upon complaint, agents arrived at 11:35 p.m. and observed a line of people attempting to enter the establishment. Agents witnessed approximately 60 patrons inside the premises, with little to no social distancing measures in place. Patrons were openly consuming alcoholic beverages and moving freely throughout.
Seats at the bar were occupied while others stood at the bar. The liquor permit premise was previously cited for improper conduct – disorderly activity on Sept. 22, Oct, 30 and Dec. 10. On Jan. 14, they were cited with improper conduct – disorderly activity and hindering inspection.
In response to the Sept. 22 citation, the Ohio Liquor Control Commission suspended the liquor permit license for seven days beginning Feb. 24.
The above case will go before the Ohio Liquor Control Commission for potential penalties, including fines and/or the suspension or revocation of liquor permits.
OHIO INVESTIGATIVE UNIT
The Ohio Investigative Unit is made up of fully-sworn, plainclothes peace officers responsible for enforcing Ohio’s alcohol, tobacco, and food stamp fraud laws. Agents conduct compliance checks to ensure the liquor permit premises are compliant with the Ohio Liquor Control Act. Agents also act on complaints of illegal activity on liquor permit premises. In addition to providing the safety checks associated with the COVID-19 directives, OIU agents continue to perform their normal compliance checks to ensure the liquor permit premises are complying with the Ohio Liquor Control Act.
