ASHLAND — Severe storms and a tornado in mid-June severely damaged around 480 acres of land at Mohican-Memorial State Forest, around 10 percent of its total acreage, according to a tornado response plan document.

In order for an area to be classified as severely damaged, over 75 percent of the location's dominant trees have to be damaged, according to the Mohican-Memorial State Forest Tornado Response Plan.
