ASHLAND -- Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers have charged an Ashland man with operating under the influence, his 11th OVI offense, according to a press release from the Patrol.

Michael Bowen, was arrested at approximately 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27 after troopers initiated a traffic stop for speed and marked lanes on US Route 42 in the city of Ashland.

"This is pretty unheard of. We consider a habitual five or so times, and we only get those maybe four and five times a year here at the Ashland post," said Sgt. Joshua Stryker of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

He said the 11 offenses took place from 1981 to late October.

Bowen is set to appear in Ashland Municipal Court at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 15 for arraignment and pretrial.
