CHIPPEWA TOWNSHIP -- A Rittman woman was killed Tuesday night after a one-vehicle crash in Chippewa Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Wooster Post.

Brooklynn Adcox, 26, was a front-seat passenger who was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and pronounced dead at the scene by the Wayne County Coroner's Office.

The incident took place at approximately 7:22 p.m. on Eastern Road, just west of County Road 51 (Mennonite Road) in Wayne County.

According to the Patrol, Jason Morrison, 34, of Rittman, was operating a 1997 Saturn SL. He was traveling east on Eastern Road when the vehicle traveled left of center and off the north side of the roadway, before striking a tree and overturning.

There were two children, ages 6 and 2 in the vehicle, the Patrol stated. The two children were transported to Akron Children's Hospital where they were treated for non-life threating injuries.

Morrison was uninjured in the crash and was treated and released at the scene. Adcox was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the Patrol.

Assisting at the scene were Rittman Fire and EMS, Rittman Police Department, Wayne County Coroner's Office and the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.

This crash remains under investigation. The Patrol stated it is unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs are a factor in this incident.
