ASHLAND -- Two people were taken into custody and suspected heroin, drug paraphernalia, drug abuse instruments and evidence related to drug trafficking were seized Friday morning during a raid in the 600 block of Arthur Street.

Detectives from the Ashland Police Division and the Ashland County Sheriff's Department assigned to the METRICH Enforcement Unit, along with members of the Ashland Police Division and the Ashland Special Response Team, executed a search warrant at the location.

Police said the search warrant for the residence was the result of an ongoing investigation into possible drug trafficking and use at the location.

Police did not identify the two people taken into custody. The case has been forwarded to the Ashland County Prosecutor's Office for review.
