FLORENCE TOWNSHIP -- A Wellington man was seriously injured Saturday morning in a motorcycle crash in Florence Township, according to the Sandusky State Highway Patrol Post.

Thomas Urbansky, 25, was transported by Citizens EMS to Lorain Mercy, then transferred to Cleveland Metro with serious injuries, the Patrol reported.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:36 a.m. on State Route 60 south of State Route 113 in Erie County.

According to the Patrol, Urbansky was driving a Harley Davidson Dyna Wide Glide, southbound on State Route 60. The motorcycle failed to negotiate a right-hand curve and drove off the left side of the road. The motorcycle struck a mailbox and crossed over two driveways prior to overturning in a yard.

The Patrol reported Urbansky was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Assisting agencies on scene: The Erie County Sheriff’s Office, Citizens EMS, Florence Township Fire, and L&M Towing.

The crash remains under investigation.
