Mother Nature sent north central Ohio a chilly reminder this weekend -- we are a long way from Spring.

Snow. Check. Freezing rain. Check. Wind. Check.

And today ... wind chills below zero.

Welcome to winter in north central Ohio.

This weekend has been a return to normalcy in our area, a chilling slap in the face from Mother Nature that she still has plenty in store for us before Spring begins on March 19.

The National Weather Service office in Cleveland forecasts a slight chance of snow showers today after 3 p.m. It will remain cloudy with a high reaching only 17.

With a west wind of 15 to 17 mph, and gusts as high as 31, that will deliver wind chill values as low as 4 below zero.

A slight chance of snow showers remains possible tonight, mainly before 2 a.m. It will remain mostly cloudy tonight with northeast winds of 10 to 14 mph and gusts as high as 25.

The low tonight will dip to 15, allowing for some continuing arctic-like wind chill values.

The week ahead looks primarily dry with normal January temps. Precipitation  returns next weekend, though it will likely be a rain/snow mix.

Hunker down, north central Ohio. We still have two months of winter left.
