DOYLESTOWN -- Hillsdale erupted for 21 points in the second quarter and picked up its first win of the season on Friday night at Doylestown Chippewa.
The two teams were tied at 14 after the first period, but the Falcons peeled off three TDs in succession, scoring passes of 13 and 18 yards from Caden Mutchler to Justin Ziegler and Ty Williams, respectively, sandwiched around a 5-yard Williams blast. Williams had a 3-yard touchdown bolt in the first period, and Brandon Reared hit paydirt from 31 yards in the opening stanza, too.
Mutchler added a 10-yard scoring strike to Cole Sinnett in the third period, and Ethan Goodwin's 2-yard TD run finished it.
The Falcons compiled 257 yards rushing and another 199 yards in the air, for 456 yards of total offense, compared to 256 for the Chipps.
Williams ran for 108 yards and posted 127 yards receiving for a 235-yard total offense performance.
Hillsdale (1-1) has a home date with Dalton next week. Doylestown drops to 0-2 on the season.
