Crestview senior Evan Hamilton is dragged down by a Carey defender during Saturday night's playoff loss.

CAREY -- Carey roared to a big first-half start and coasted all the way home to roll past Crestview 42-14 in a Division VI, Region 22 football playoff game on Saturday night.

The eighth-seeded Blue Devils opened a 14-0 first-quarter lead and enjoyed a 29-7 halftime bulge.

The Cougars could not cut into the deficit, and trailed 36-14 through three quarters.

Chase Shifflet registered both touchdowns for ninth-seeded Crestview, scoring from 6 and 2 yards.  The loss ends Crestview's five-game winning streak, and drops the squad to 6-2 overall.

Carey has been unbeatable at home this season. In fact, the Cougars were the first team in five games to score on them in their own stadium.

The Blue Devils improved to 7-1 and travel to top-seeded Archbold next week, taking a seven-game winning streak with them.
