ROSSFORD β€” A trio of Crestview wrestlers are going to state.

Sophomore 126-pounder Hayden Kuhn, junior 182-pounder Brier Godsey and senior 285-pounder Hayden Morse earned spots to the Division III state meet over the weekend at the Rossford district tournament.

The Division III meet will take place March 13 and 14 at Marion Harding High School.

Kuhn earned his spot with a runner-up finish at 126. He went 3-0 to reach the finals before falling to Monroeville junior Alec Homan in the championship match. Kuhn (39-3) was runner-up to Homan last week at the Plymouth sectional tournament as well.

Godsey, who was third at the Plymouth sectional, reached the championship semifinals before falling to eventual district champ Carson Meyer of Archbold. He bounced back with a pair of victories in the consolation bracket, including a pin of St. Paul’s Ben Mayer in the consolation finals to finish third. He was 4-1 on the weekend to improve his season record to 28-13.

Morse was runner-up in the 285 division, falling to Swanton’s Brodie Stevens 4-3 in the finals. Morse was 3-1 on the weekend, running his season mark to 26-4.

As a team, Crestview finished eighth in the final standings with 73 points.

Mapleton freshman Brock Durbin also earned a spot at the state meet after finishing fourth at 120 pounds at the Garfield Heights district meet. Durbin was 3-2 on the weekend and is 32-4 on the season.
