ASHLAND — Dylan Kruty and Madeline Kellogg have each been awarded a $1,000 scholarship by the Ashland Elks Lodge 1360. The scholarships are awarded annually to children or grandchildren of members of the local lodge.
Dylan, the son of Dustin and Angie Kruty and grandson of Elks member Dennis Kruty, is a member of the class of 2022 at Ashland High School. He is a four-year scholar athlete, member of National Honor society, Spanish Honor Society and the recipient of an honors diploma.
He excelled in soccer as a two-time all-conference and all-district selection and two-time Ashland Times-Gazette player of the year. Dylan plans to attend Miami (Ohio) University and major in Business Finance with the goal of a career in the financial services industry.
Madeline, the daughter of Brian and Karen Kellogg and granddaughter of Elks member Bob DeSanto, is a member of the class of 2022 at Ashland High School. She is a scholar athlete and honor roll student and was the recipient of the vocational education Department Scholar award.
She earned chapter and state FFA degrees and has served as FFA chapter president for three years. Her school activities include soccer, track, band and community service club. Madeline plans to attend Wilmington College and major in Agricultural Education with a goal of utilizing her love for agriculture as a teacher.
