ASHLAND — Organizers are excited to announce the 2023-2023 school year is off to a great start for the Ashland FFA Chapter.

So far, we have had our annual Hog Roast, conducted a mum sale, and gotten some community service hours in . Here is an article about the first event that we did this year, the Hog Roast.

On Aug. 26, FFA Members, their families, FFA Alumni and supporters gathered in the Ag Shop at Ashland High School for the annual hog roast.

Thanks to generous donations from Jones Livestock, Turk Brothers Meats, Dave Bishop, and Marty Shoup: attendees enjoyed a pulled pork sandwich and sides provided by FFA Members and their families.

FFA President Tanner Harpster addressed the attendees and thanked the Ashland FFA Alumni Association for their support of the program.

Harpster went on to outline some of the plans for the year including a trip to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, participation in many Career Development Events, and holding regular chapter meetings.

Harpster went on to introduce Ashland FFA Advisors Mr. Tod Fox and Mrs. Emily Harding.

This will be Mr. Fox’s 7th year advising the Ashland FFA Chapter and Mrs. Harding’s first year as an advisor. Thank you to the Ashland FFA Alumni Association, FFA families, and all those who attended for making the Hog Roast possible.

The Ashland FFA Chapter is looking forward to another successful year thanks to your support.
