Harvey Jay Tester, 67
Harvey Jay Tester, 67 of Ashland passed away in his home on Thursday evening, February 15, 2024.
He was born on February 26, 1956 in Ashland the son of the late Harvey and Genevieve (nee Ogborn) Tester.
Jay graduated from Mapleton High School, Class of 1974.
He retired from BCU electric in 2020. Jay was a member of the IBEW Local 688.
Throughout his life, he loved mushroom hunting, fishing and music, especially Elvis Presley. In addition to being a loving father and brother, his passion was playing slow pitch softball in the Polk Leagues.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Carrie (Paul Jr.) Tracy of Ashland; five grandchildren, Shelbee Whited, Paul Tracy III, Garrett Tester, Brayden Tracy, and Landon Tracy all of Ashland; his sister, Peg (Hiram) Bachmann of Ashland; and his brother, Greg (Tami) Tester of Jeromesville.
In addition to his parents, Jay is preceded in death by his daughter, Megan M. Tester who passed away on November 17, 2020; and a brother, Harold R. Tester.
In keeping with his wish’s, he will be laid to rest in the Polk Cemetery with his parents with a private ceremony by Reverend Dr. Paul Tracy presiding.
