GALION – A member of the KMAC in wrestling since the 2020-21 season, Loudonville put together 156 team points Saturday in the KMAC Championships at Northmor, good enough for third place.

Elgin was an easy 294.5-212.5 winner over runner-up Northmor.

The Redbirds and coach Ryan Thatcher received their lone individual title at 126 from Tyler Reeder.

The junior, who placed fourth at the league meet last year, went a perfect 4-0 with two pins and victories of 8-0 and 7-1.

Additional multi-victory efforts for LHS came from Josh Serrato (second at 138), Baylor Weiser (second at 165), Brady Smith (third at 144) and Josh Gregory (third at 190).

After also placing second last season, Serrato was 4-1 overall with two pins, a 17-3 tech fall and a 6-4 decision, placing behind only Chris Marshall of Centerburg (5-0).

Weiser went 4-1 as well, with all four of his victories coming by pin – three of them inside of 90 seconds. His only loss was to Cardington-Lincoln’s Wyatt Denney by pin.

Smith ended his day 3-2 with a pair of pins and Gregory was 2-1 with two pins.
