ASHLAND — A cold and windy morning didn’t stop children on their search for Easter eggs at Ashland High’s Community Stadium Saturday morning.

The Easter egg hunt was put on by Ashland City Schools’ Teachers Association with the help of the district. It invited students in preschool through third grade at Edison Elementary School and Reagan Elementary School to join.

Children were separated by age level and got to grab eggs off the turf in the stadium.

Members of the Ashland High football team and Sweeties dance team volunteered to help run the event. Ashland High National Honor Society members also handed out prizes and helped with the setup and cleanup.

The event also featured an Easter bunny for children to take photos with, the Kroc Center’s crocodile mascot and a mouse mascot repping Grandpa’s Cheesebarn, one of the event’s sponsors.

Lifewise Academy, Priest Dental and Gregg Orthodontics hosted tables at the event too, handing out goodies to the students who came.

The eggs all disappeared from the field within a half hour as students picked them up, counting up their candy and collecting prizes afterward.

Below are photos from the event.
