ASHLAND — The following criminal charges were filed in June with the Ashland County Common Pleas Court.
Indictments
The following 15 people were the subject of an indictment and have or will appear before the Ashland County Court of Common Pleas:
- Leighanne Waldo Grumley, 30, of Ashland, received one charge of theft, one charge of forgery and one charge of tampering with records. The charges were filed June 14 by an an Ashland County grand jury in connection with incidents authorities say happened July 28, 2023.
- Jordan Stroub, 31, of Ashland, was charged with one count of menacing by stalking and one count of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. The charges were filed June 14 by an Ashland County grand jury. The menacing by stalking charge happened in connection with incidents authorities say happened between June 1, 2023, and March 15, 2024. Stroub’s charge for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor took place in connection with incidents authorities say happened between Aug. 1, 2013 and Dec. 31, 2013.
- Walter L. Sprinkle, 47, of Ashland, received a charge of strangulation. The charge was filed June 20 by the Ashland Police Department. The charge took place in connection with an incident authorities say happened June 19.
- Deanna Sims, 49, of Ashland, received one charge of theft from a person in a protected class, one charge of identity fraud and one charge of theft. The charges were filed June 14 by an Ashland County grand jury. The charge for theft from a person in a protected class happened in connection with incidents authorities say happened between Feb. 1 and March 5. Sims’ identity fraud charge took place in connection with incidents authorities say happened between Feb. 13 and March 5. The theft charge happened in connection with an incident authorities say took place March 5.
- Nathan Nichols, 39, of Ashland, received one count of involuntary manslaughter and one count of failing to provide for a functionally impaired person. The charges were filed June 14 by an Ashland County grand jury. The involuntary manslaughter count happened in connection to an incident authorities say happened Feb. 8. Nichols’ charge of failing to provide for a functionally impaired person happened in connection with incidents authorities say took place between Jan. 26, 2022 and Feb. 8.
- Preston Duaral Jefferson, 32, of Columbus, received a charge for possession of cocaine. The charge, filed by the Ohio State Highway Patrol June 14, happened in connection with an incident authorities say took place the same day.
- Tyler Hughes, 25, of Ashland, was charged with one count of forgery. The charge was filed June 14, in connection to an incident authorities say happened July 28, 2023.
- Darwin Omar Hidalgo, 41, of Ashland, was charged with two counts of forgery and one charge of identity fraud. The charges, filed June 14 by an Ashland County grand jury, all took place in connection to incidents authorities say happened April 19.
- Rasheba Henry, 26, of Cleveland, received a charge for possession of a fentanyl-related compound. The charge was filed by the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office on June 12, and happened in connection to an incident authorities say took place the same day.
- Ryan Flickinger, 40, of Ashland, was charged with aggravated possession of drugs. The charge was filed June 14 by an Ashland County grand jury in connection with an incident authorities say happened May 10.
- Riley Davis, 42, of Bryan, received a charge for misuse of credit cards. The charge, filed June 14 by an Ashland County grand jury, took place in connection with incidents authorities say happened between July 1, 2023 to Dec. 27, 2023.
- Steven Collyer, 33, of West Salem, was charged with two counts of rape. The charges were filed June 14 by an Ashland County grand jury. Collyer’s charges were in connection with incidents authorities say happened March 27.
- Carson Chronister, 26, of Ashland, received a charge for burglary. The charge was filed June 14 by an Ashland County grand jury in connection with an incident authorities say happened May 26.
- Joshua Brooks, 28, of Ashland, received a charge for burglary. The charge, filed June 14 by an Ashland County grand jury, happened in connection to an incident authorities say took place May 26.
- Jackie Babb, 52, of Elyria, received a charge for aggravated possession of drugs. The charge was filed June 14 by an Ashland County grand jury. Babb’s charge happened in connection to an incident authorities say took place May 4.
