Linda K. Gast 76 of Ashland passed away on Wednesday evening, July 3, 2024 in University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center.

She was born on April 6, 1948 in Hartshorn Ridge, Monroe County the second child of eight to the late Roy and Ruby (nee Longden) Roberts.

Linda married the love of her life, Zeddy Gast on January 29, 1966.

She retired after many years from Hedstrom in 2010 and worked previously at the Eagle Rubber Company.
Linda was a member of the Polk Church of Christ. She was an avid fisherwoman, who enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing bingo, but most of all spending time with her family.

She is survived by two children, Dennis (Robyn) Gast of Mansfield and their children, Faith Jacobs, Jennifer (Jesse Mateo) Watkins, Dalton (Octavia) Gast, Sarah (Jason) Littleton, Devin (Kacie) Thiel and Christopher (Nicole Debo) Thiel; Bryan (Lisa) Gast of Ashland and their children, Christa (Scott Castor) Gast, Kaitlyn (Teddy) Hamilton and Connor Gast; Angela’s children, Crystal Martin (Lastone Thurman) and Ashley Martin; sixteen great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Robert (Jeanette) Gast of Ashland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Zeddy who passed away on May 20, 2016; her daughter, Angela Martin; three brothers; and one sister.

The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation to Gentiva Hospices’ staff for the love and care they extended to Linda, especially Dr. Pierre, her nurses, Tiffany and Tracy, and her social worker, Marty and Pastor Dave. The staff at University Hospital Samaritan Medical Center could not have been better especially Becca who provided music therapy and to her niece, Kim Gibson for her love and support.

An interment service will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 1:00 pm in the Polk Cemetery with Reverend Ed Graves presiding.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made as an in-kind gift card for the staff of Gentiva Hospice, 112 Harcourt Rd #3, Mt Vernon, OH 43050.
