ASHLAND — The undefeated Ashland Arrows are third in their region of the first edition in the weekly Ohio high school football computer poll.
The 4-0 Arrows are third in Division II, Region 7 with an average of 7.9293 points in the ratings which were released on Wednesday. Unbeaten Walnut Ridge and Big Walnut (3-1) are just ahead of Ashland.
This week’s Homecoming game presents a solid computer points opportunity for coach Scott Valentine’s squad. Maple Heights comes to town with a 3-1 record.
The top 16 schools from each region in the final report on Oct. 27 will qualify for the playoffs. The top eight would have first-round home games in the playoffs.

Hillsdale (4-0) is fourth in Division VII, Region 25 with 6 points. The Falcons host 3-1 Dalton in a huge Wayne County Athletic League shootout.
Black River (2-2) is 12th in Division VI, Region 21 with 3.225 points. This week’s home matchup is with winless Firelands.
South Central (1-3) is 17th in Division VII, Region 25 with a 1.7-point average. The Trojans, who travel to undefeated Monroeville on Friday night, would be outside the playoff picture if the postseason started today.
