Deborah Jane Brooks, 67
Deborah Jane Brooks, 67 of Ashland passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024 in OhioHealth Med Central Hospital.
She was born on August 8, 1957 in New London, the daughter of the late Donald David and Mary Ladonna (nee Walkup) McCormic.
Deb graduated from Crestview High School, Class of 1975. She furthered her education at Wooster College where she studied veterinary.
She retired from Bob Evans where she was employed more than 25 years in early 2000.
She met her soulmate and better half Michael Brooks in 1997 who she continued to spend the next 27 years with and married on August 8, 2008.
She attended Bethel Baptist Church in her earlier years. Throughout her life, Deb enjoyed bowling at both King and Luray Lanes and hand sewing. She remained very active in the athletics of her grandchildren by attending as many events as possible and being supportive and everything her grandchildren did even when not being able to travel to be there in person. Overall, Deb was very proud of all her grandchildren’s accomplishments/achievements and extremely proud of having her first-born grandchild Ian graduate from high school and go to college to play collegiate football.
Deb is survived by one daughter, Jessica (Shaun) Furlong of Saline Michigan; two sons, Jeremie (Amanda) Mosher of Hayesville and Joshua Mosher of Jacksonville, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Ian, Isaac, Iaethyn, and Iaeston Furlong and Colton Mosher; stepdaughter, Tiffany (Barry Henderson) Brooks of Columbus, Ohio; two step-grandchildren, Xavier Brooks and Briella Henderson; and one brother, Rick (Stephanie) Lowe of Blacklick, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, Deb is preceded in death by her loving husband of 12 years, Michael Brooks who passed from this life on May 12, 2021; and two sisters, Sandra K. McCormic and Linda Sue Martin.
Interment will be in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
