MANSFIELD — The high school girls golf postseason teed off earlier this week and several area teams qualified for next week’s district tournaments.

Ashland won a Division I sectional team title, while Lexington’s Makaree Chapman was the Division I co-medalist and St. Peter’s Joy Kim captured Division II medalist honors.

Here’s a look at this week’s results:

Division I

Ashland claimed the Division I sectional title at Sycamore Springs in Findlay, while Lexington took runner-up honors and Ontario finished fifth.

The top five teams and top five individuals not on a qualifying team advanced to next week’s district at Stone Ridge in Bowling Green.

The Arrows carded a team total of 359. Kyah Huckleberry led the way with an 86, followed by Elleni Miller and Natalie Koehler, who shot matching 88s. Chloe Crunkilton (97) and Haylee Bond (107) rounded out the scoring for Ashland.

Lady Lex carded a 369, led by Makaree Chapman’s 78. Chapman tied for medalist honors with Findlay’s Ava Metz. Aniyah Monica shot a 92 for Lady Lex, followed by Lauryn Nupen (94), Kyler Lamb (105) and Willow Roberts (113).

Ontario shot a 385 to grab the fifth and final district-qualifying spot. Brinlee Kreger led the way with a 91, followed by Brooklyn Black (95), Alexia Sesco (99), Ashley Hall (100) and Delaney Moritz (116).

Mansfield Senior didn’t have enough players to field a full team. Alyssa Turner shot a 143, while Marissa Witte carded a 155 and Chelonta Phillips shot 174.

Division II

Hillsdale’s Dally Meek was the Ashland-area headliner.

Meek shot an 83 at The Pines Golf Course in Orrville. She tied for second overall and was the top individual to qualify for the District Tournament at Good Park in Akron.

Crestview finished fifth at Valley View with a 430. Elyse Belcher (103) led the way, followed by Lyla Belcher (105), Ella Hawley (108), Logan Moore (114) and Deryn Moore (125).

St. Peter’s Joy Kim was the medalist at the Division II Valley View sectional on Wednesday. The freshman shot an 82 for a one-stroke victory over Colonel Crawford’s Madison Gray.

The top three teams and top three individuals advanced to next week’s Sycamore Springs district.

Clear Fork finished fourth with a 422, but Ella Schmidt grabbed the third and final individual qualifying spot after winning a one-hole playoff against Buckeye Central’s Liz Krebs. Schmidt finished with a 90. Other scorers for Clear Fork included Erika Hollar (98), Baylie Salkovick (112) and Chloe Steward (122).

Galion finished 11th with a 493. Sarah People shot 100, followed by Kylee Crager (119), Norah Blevins (133), Madison Beck (141) and Grace Sparks (194).

St. Peter’s had two other individuals compete at Valley View. Maggie Chamberlin shot 126 and Kayla Regulus had a 147.
