JEROMESVILLE — Forty members of the Hillsdale FFA had the opportunity to attend the 97th National FFA Convention and Expo from Oct. 23 to 26 in Indianapolis.
The first day consisted of many interesting educational stops on the drive. The chapter visited Rodes Meats and Reproductive Specialty Group (RSG), to learn about different parts of agricultural industries.
Before checking into the hotel for the night, they made a trip to Dave and Buster’s arcade for fun with friends, food, and games.

Day Two started with attending a morning session at the convention hall in Lucas Oil Stadium. There they had the privilege to hear from keynote speaker, Kevin Wanzer.
Then, there was some time to explore the expo center. The chapter then went to dinner, and to end the night, attended the Buckeye Bash, an event with only kids from Ohio, and an opportunity to meet many new people.
On Day Three, Temple Grandin spoke at the morning session about how the world needs different kinds of thinkers, which was very inspiring. Then the group headed to lunch at Sauce On the Side. Finally, they went back to the hotel and supported the football team from afar.
On the final day, they attended the session and watched American degree recipients receive their degrees. The American Degree Recipients are Riley Twining, Emily McGovern, Jake Hoverstock, Jax Rogers, and Gage Madsen.
The last stop before heading home was at Chick-fil-A for a quick lunch.
This year’s National Convention trip was filled with lots of fun memories and learning new things to be brought back to help grow our chapter.
We would like to thank the Hillsdale FFA Alumni for donating the funds and making it possible for our members to go on this trip.
