ASHLAND – Ashland City Schools Foundation and Ashland County Community Foundation are pleased to announce the recipients of their fall semester teacher mini-grants.

These mini-grants will allow 25 Ashland County educators to implement innovative programs and projects to advance student learning, both in and outside their classrooms.

Grants totaled $5,013 from ACSF and $22,921 from ACCF. The following teachers received grants from one or both organizations:

Ashland City Schools Foundation

 BreAnn Fennell, Reagan Elementary School, received a grant for We’re Going to the Zoo!

 Ruth Miller, Ashland High School, received a grant for Learning English from Scratch.

Ashland City Schools Foundation and Ashland County Community Foundation

 Charles Benway, Ashland High School, received a grant for Secret Society Supporting Her and Him “SSSHH.”

 Sarah LeVeck, Ashland Middle School, received a grant for Calming the Teenage Brain.

 Brooke McGaffick, Ashland Middle School, received a grant for Manipulatives in a Thinking Classroom.

 Carly Black, Hillsdale High School, received a grant for Romeo and Juliet isn’t a romance?

 Martha Buckner, Dale-Roy School, received a grant for Guiros for Dale-Roy School Students and instruments for new students.

 Jordyn Burnison, Loudonville High School, received a grant for Science Labs Throughout School Year.

 Katie Gibson, Hillsdale Elementary School, received a grant for The Gift of Reading.

 Tessa Gilmer, Mapleton Elementary School, received a grant for Mapleton Elementary
Playground Upgrade-Playing and Learning on the Blacktop.

 Amber Haldeman, Ashland Middle School, received a grant for Collaborative Intervention-Based Classroom.

 Kaitlin Jackson, Taft Intermediate School, received a grant for Taft Art Club.

 Marty Kral, Ashland Middle School, received a grant for A Steel Drum Celebration: The Music of Trinidad and Tobago.

 Rachel Kral, Taft Intermediate School, received a grant for Flexible Seating.

 Shanna Lawrence, Reagan Elementary School, received a grant for Leading and
Learning with Basketball Jones.

 Kate Long, Ashland High School, received a grant for AP Precalculus Exam preparation binders.

 Hannah Mabry, Loudonville C.E. Budd Elementary, received a grant for Books for Budd Literacy Night.

 Shelby MacKenzie, Mapleton Elementary School, received a grant for A Little Spot of Emotions.

 Linda Michael, Ashland Middle School, received a grant for Positive Mind Building Activities for ACT.

 Erin Miller, Ashland Middle School, received a grant for Starting a First Year Classroom.

 Amy Nelson, Ashland Middle School, received a grant for Level Up Language Arts.

 Monica Ralph, Mapleton Middle School, Cultivating Classroom Connections: Rallying Real-Life Learning through Content-Centered Compensation.

 Kerry Reisinger, Mapleton High School, received a grant for Reading Passport program.

 Tiffany Smith, Hillsdale Elementary School, received a grant for Feeding Readers One Book at a Time with Bookworm Vending Machine books.

 Aimee Turchyn, Mapleton Middle School, received a grant for Making Reading and Writing Hands-On, Fun, and Purposeful.

Ashland City Schools Foundation and Ashland County Community Foundation accept applications for teacher mini-grants each semester, with deadlines in September and January.

Grant requests should be for programs and projects that are not covered by school budgets.

For spring semester 2025 grants, any K-12 teacher from any school in Ashland County may apply online at www.ashlandforgood.org/grants by January 15. Applicants from the Ashland City School district will be considered for ACSF grants, and all applicants will be considered for ACCF grants.
