George “CC” O’Brien, 13 of Ashland took his own life on Monday evening, December 16, 2024 in his home.
He was born on March 12, 2011 in Wooster, the son of Tyra O’Brien and April Parks.
CC was in the 8th grade at Ashland Middle School. He enjoyed racing dirt bikes and riding four wheelers. He also enjoyed swimming at the YMCA and Brookside Park; and building fires in the woods. CC was a strong-willed young gentleman who could be tough and fearless, especially when climbing trees. He was full of life and had so much more ahead of him. When he wasn’t tinkering with power tools and being outdoors, he did love being a gamer, playing War Thunder.
CC was a true Christ believer as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Although CC suffered from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder throughout his years, he always overcame his challenges.
He is survived by his loving mother, April Parks of Ashland; his loving father, Tyra O’Brien of Ashland; maternal grandmother, Beth Ann (nee Canfield) Jones of Ashland; maternal grandfather, George (Darlene) Parks of Ashland; maternal great grandmothers, Shirley Canfield and Shirley Parks, both of Ashland; his siblings, Gabe, Harley, and Titus O’Brien of Ashland, Tanner (Hazey) O’Brien and Tarrel O’Brien both of Long Island, New York and Tonya O’Brien of North Carolina; nieces, Michaela, Angalena, Hazelyn, and Katherine O’Brien and Evelyn Parks; his uncle, Jesse (Sarah) Parks; and numerous extended family members.
CC is preceded in death by an infant brother; paternal grandparents, Lonnie and Eva (nee Simmons) O’Brien; his maternal grandfather, Larry H. Jones; and his maternal great grandfather, James Parks.
