LEXINGTON — Ava Brown’s assault on the state record book is in full swing.

The two-time North Central Ohio Player of the Year, Brown recorded 527 kills in leading Lexington to a runner-up finish in the Ohio Cardinal Conference.

In three varsity seasons, Brown has accumulated 1,407 kills. Another 500-kill season — she’s averaged 538.5 kills the past two years — would give her 1,900-plus for her career. That would land Brown a spot in the top five on the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s unofficial career kills list.

The 6-foot-3 Brown was an All-Ohio first-team pick in Division IV, her third All-Ohio citation in as many seasons. She was a third-teamer as a freshman and moved up to the second team last fall. Brown was selected the Ohio Cardinal Conference Offensive Player of the Year and the District 6 Player of the Year.

A Maryland recruit, Brown is the focal point of the All-North Central Ohio volleyball team. She is joined on the all-area team by three other All-Ohioans.
