ASHLAND — The following criminal charges were filed in December with the Ashland County Common Pleas Court.
Indictments
The following 17 people were the subject of an indictment and have or will appear before the Ashland County Common Pleas Court:Â
- Lonnie Abrams, 50, of Ashland, was charged with two counts of theft from a person in a protected class and three counts of theft. Abrams’ charges were filed by an Ashland County grand jury Dec. 19. Authorities say one of Abrams’ counts of theft from a person in a protected class took place from Aug. 19-Sept. 6, and the other took place Sept. 21-Sept. 23. His three charges of theft took place Aug. 29, Sept. 4 and Sept. 6, respectively. Abrams also received a separate charge for having weapons while under disability. That charge was also filed by an Ashland County grand jury Dec. 19, in connection to an incident authorities say happened Sept. 9.
- Joshua Bigley, 39, of Barberton, received one charge of tampering with evidence. His charge was filed by the Ohio State Highway Patrol Dec. 12, in connection with an incident authorities say happened the same day.
- Edward Michael Boswell, 31, of Ashland, was charged with failure to register as a sex offender. His charge, filed Dec. 19 by an Ashland County grand jury, came in connection to an incident authorities say happened Nov. 19. Boswell also received two separate charges for assault. Those charges were filed Dec. 23 by the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office. Boswell’s assault charges came in connection to incidents authorities say happened Dec. 19.
- David DeWitte, 43, of North Royalton, was charged with possession of cocaine. DeWitte’s charge, filed Dec. 19 by an Ashland County grand jury, came in connection to an incident authorities say happened Nov. 4.
- William Freeman, 40, of Ashland, was charged with being a fugitive from justice. Freeman’s charge was filed by the Ashland Police Department Dec. 11, in connection to an incident authorities say happened Dec. 1.
- Kristen Friesland, 36, of Columbus, received one charge of tampering with evidence. Her charge, filed by the Ohio State Highway Patrol Dec. 12, came in connection to an incident authorities say happened the same day.
- Christopher Gerwig, 38, of Ashland, received a charge for trespass in a habitation when a person is present or likely to be present. Gerwig’s charge was filed Dec. 12 by the Ashland Police Department. The charge was connected to an incident authorities say happened Dec. 10.
- Taeshawn Greene, 21, of Toledo, was charged with one count of breaking and entering and one count of attempt to commit an offense. The Ashland Police Department filed the charges against Greene on Dec. 4. The charges came in connection to incidents authorities say happened Dec. 2.
- Julien James, 19, of Toledo, received charges for one count of breaking and entering, and one count of attempt to commit an offense. The charges, filed Dec. 4 by the Ashland Police Department, came in connection to an incident authorities say happened Dec. 2.
- Brittney Maynard, 36, of Ashland, was charged with theft. An Ashland County grand jury filed the charge Dec. 20. The charge came in connection to incidents authorities say happened between July 1-Sept. 24.
- Dondrae Keith McCurdy, 19, of Columbus, was charged with one count of failure to comply with an order or signature of a police officer, and one count of receiving stolen property. The Ohio State Highway Patrol filed the charges Dec. 17, in connection to incidents authorities say happened Dec. 16.
- Robert Pringle, 33, of Ashland, was charged with aggravated possession of drugs. The Ashland Police Department filed the charge Dec. 6, in connection to an incident authorities say happened Dec. 4.
- Devin Rohn, 22, of Toledo, was charged with one count of breaking and entering and one count of attempt to commit an offense. The Ashland Police Department filed the charges Dec. 4. They came in connection to an incident authorities say happened Dec. 2.
- Jessica Skaggs, 28, of Massillon, was charged with aggravated possession of drugs. The charges, filed by an Ashland County grand jury Dec. 19, came in connection to an incident authorities say happened April 26.
- Darrin Skonieczny, 52, of Ashland, was charged with assault. An Ashland County grand jury filed the charge Dec. 19, in connection to an incident authorities say happened Nov. 3.
- Evan Steele, 33, of Marion, was charged with theft. The Ashland Police Department filed the charge Dec. 30. The charge came in connection to an incident authorities say happened Dec. 27.
- Amber Leann White, 35, of Crestline, received one count of illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto grounds of a specified government facility, and one count of tampering with evidence. The Ohio State Highway Patrol filed the charges Dec. 13, in connection to incidents authorities say happened the same day.
