Vanlue finally found a way to top Bucyrus 48-46 for an Ohio girls basketball victory on Jan. 22.

Bucyrus showed it was ready to play, using an early thrust to carve out a 14-13 advantage over Vanlue as the first quarter ended.

The Redmen got the better of the action throughout the first half, owning a 25-22 margin over the Wildcats at halftime.

Bucyrus moved ahead by earning a 37-35 advantage over Vanlue at the end of the third quarter.

It took a 13-9 rally, but the Wildcats were up to the task, grabbing the lead for good in the final quarter.

Last time Bucyrus and Vanlue played in a 61-30 game on Nov. 30, 2023.

In recent action on Jan. 9, Vanlue faced off against Crestline and Bucyrus took on N. Robinson Col. Crawford on Jan. 17 at Colonel Crawford High School.
