JEROMESVILLE — The Hillsdale FFA Chapter’s Nursery and Landscaping Career Development Event (CDE) team placed second at the recent state competition.
That achievement also comes with an invitation to represent the state at The Big E in Massachusetts this fall.
The team is composed of Reed Twining, Hunter Hickey, Josh Burson, and Jacob Schwendeman.
The squad demonstrated exceptional knowledge and hands-on skills in areas such as plant identification, landscape design, pest management, and customer service.
The Nursery/Landscape CDE is an educational activity designed to teach students to identify various horticultural plants, seeds, insects, and diseases that affect the nursery and landscape industry.
In addition to the team’s second-place finish overall, team members earned standout individual honors: Reed Twining: 5th place; Hunter Hickey: 6th place; Josh Burson: 23rd place; Jacob Schwendeman: 33rd place.
Congratulations to the team, and good luck at the Big E.
