ASHLAND — Rain showers held off on a mild Saturday to allow for a dry, but gusty, commencement ceremony for Ashland High School’s class of 2025.

The high school’s band played through “Pomp & Circumstance” as the 259 graduating students walked to their seats, most holding their caps from flying away in the wind.

Noteworthy speakers included State Rep. Melanie Miller, Ashland Mayor Matt Miller and Superintendent Steve Paramore — who’s messages to graduates focused on blossoming where they are placed.

Seniors Julia Brauner and Scarlett Wilhelm offered remarks to their peers.

The class of 2025 included 17 valedictorians:
