ASHLAND — The following criminal charges were filed in May with the Ashland County Common Pleas Court.
Indictments
The following 13 people were the subject of an indictment and have or will appear in Ashland County Common Pleas Court:Â
- Kyle Bailey, 37, of Sullivan, was charged with 11 counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person. An Ashland County grand jury also filed four counts of illegal use of a minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material or performance, and one count of possessing criminal tools. The charges were filed May 8, in connection to incidents authorities say happened from March 14, 2023, through Jan. 17, 2025.
- Adam Bursley, 35, of Mansfield, was charged with one count of strangulation and one count of domestic violence. The Ashland Police Department filed the charges May 19 in connection to incidents authorities say happened on May 15.
- Jonathan Figley, 43, of Ashland, was charged with a count of importuning on May 1. The Ashland Police Department filed the charge in connection to an incident authorities say happened Jan. 1, 2010.
- Crystal Gates, 34, of Ashland, was charged with one count of theft from a person in a protected class, and one count of theft. The charges were filed by the Ashland County prosecutor’s office May 8. They came in connection to incidents authorities say happened March 31.
- Christopher Hammond, 22, of Ashland, was charged with one count of tampering with evidence, and one count of possession of drugs. An Ashland County grand jury filed the charges May 8, in connection to incidents authorities say happened Dec. 16, 2024.
- Thomas Jacobs, 33, of Powell, was charged with possession of a fentanyl-related compound. The charge was filed by an Ashland County grand jury May 8, in connection to an incident authorities say happened Jan. 26.
- Jamyn Kidd, 29, of Nova, was charged with domestic violence on May 23. The Ashland County Sheriff’s Office filed the charge in connection to an incident authorities say happened May 16.
- John William Maki, 26, of Holmesville, was charged with domestic violence. The charge was filed by the Loudonville Police Department May 13. It came in connection to an incident authorities say happened May 4.
- Brittney Nichole Milton, 35, of Loudonville, was charged with felonious assault. The Loudonville Police Department filed the charge May 16, in connection to an incident authorities say happened May 15.
- Warren Ortiz, 36, of New London, was charged with rape on May 7. The Ashland County Sheriff’s Office filed the charge in connection to an incident authorities say happened May 3.
- Johnathan Teets, 44, of West Salem, was charged with felonious assault. The charge was filed by the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office May 12. It came in connection to an incident authorities say happened May 9.
- John Wolfe, 26, of Ashland, was charged with one count of menacing by stalking. The Ashland Police Department filed the charge May 2, in connection to an incident authorities say happened May 1.
- Hunter Dwayne Yeaples, 22, of Wellington, was charged with one count of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, a drug of abuse or a combination of them; one count of operating a vehicle while under the influence of a listed controlled substance or a listed metabolite of a controlled substance; one count of possession of a fentanyl-related substance; one count of possession of heroin; and one count of aggravated possession of drugs. Yeaples’ charges were filed May 8 by an Ashland County grand jury. They came in connection to incidents authorities say happened Feb. 21.
