ASHLAND — There were 24 people sentenced in June for felony convictions in Ashland County.
Ashland County Common Pleas Judge Dave Stimpert ordered the following sentences, unless otherwise noted.
3 people received ‘in lieu of conviction’ rulings
- Trent Sexton, 22, of Sullivan received a ruling referred to as “in lieu of conviction” for a conviction of aggravated possession of eutylone. Under the plan, Sexton will undergo two years of supervision, 125 days in jail, inpatient drug and alcohol treatment and maintain sobriety. He also owes court costs. The original charge was filed Feb. 7.
- Patricia Beck, 53, of Flora, Miss. received an ILC for a conviction of carrying a concealed weapon, aggravated possession of methamphetamine and/or oxycodone, possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Under the plan, Beck will undergo one year of supervision, maintain sobriety and compliance with the terms of supervision. She also owes court costs. Original charges were filed Oct. 6, 2004.
- Tori Lewis, 31, of Perrysville, received an ILC for a conviction of possession of cocaine. Under the plan, he will undergo two years of supervision, a two-day jail credit, drug and alcohol treatment and maintain sobriety. He also owes court costs. The original charge was filed Nov. 14, 2024.
Four people sentenced June 9
- Angel Burke, 45, of Newark, was sentenced to six months in prison for the conviction of harassment with bodily substance. Burke received 32 days of jail credit. Upon release, Burke faces an optional two-year post release control sanction and owes court costs. The original charge was filed Nov. 14, 2024.
- Jason Blythe, 45, of Ashland, was sentenced to two concurrent prison terms totaling nine months for the convictions of breaking and entering and theft. Blythe received 118 days of jail credit. Upon release, Blythe faces an optional two-year post release control sanction. Blythe also owes court costs and $1,035.35 in restitution. The charges were filed Feb. 13.
- Derek Sindyla, 38, of Lakewood, was sentenced to three consecutive prison terms totaling 12 months for the convictions of aggravated possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine and failure to appear. Sindyla received 175 days of jail credit. Upon release, Sindyla faces an optional two-year post release control sanction. Sindyla also owes court costs. The charges were filed Aug. 27, 2024.
- Abdiwahab Mohamed, 25, of Columbus, was sentenced to two years of mandatory community control for the conviction of receiving stolen property. A forgery charge was dismissed. Mohamed received 11 days of jail credit. Mohamed faces a reserved prison term of six to 12 months, a $250 fine and court costs. The original charges were filed Aug. 12, 2024.
Nine people sentenced June 16
- Michael McCutcheon, 34, of Ravenna, was sentenced to two consecutive prison terms totaling 48 months for the convictions of failure to comply and aggravated possession of methamphetamine. A complicity charge was dismissed. McCutcheon received 255 days of jail credit. He faces a $5,000 fine, court costs and a three-year driver’s license suspension. Upon release, he faces an optional two-year post release control sanction. Original charges were filed Oct. 7, 2024.
- Charles Beasley, 53, of Mansfield, was sentenced to community control for two years for the conviction of improper handling. The charges of physical control under influence and having weapons while intoxicated were dismissed. He faces a reserved prison term of six to 12 months, court costs and the forfeiture of a firearm. Original charges were filed Feb. 24.
- Cody Thompson, 31, of Mansfield, was sentenced to six months in prison for the conviction of aggravated possession of methamphetamine. He received 89 days of jail credit, faces court costs and an optional two-year post release control sanction. The original charge was filed May 13, 2021.
- Braxxton Yoder, 24, of Wooster, was sentenced to two concurrent prison terms totaling 18 months for the convictions of assault and carrying concealed weapons. He received 119 days of jail credit, faces court costs and an optional two-year post release control sanction. The original disposition for another case was Nov. 6, 2023.
- Joshua Duewel, 31, of Ashland, was sentenced to two years of community control for the convictions of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, failure to stop after an accident, reckless operation and having an open container (all misdemeanors). The charge of improper handling (a felony) was dismissed. He faces fines totaling $475, court costs and a one-year driver’s license suspension. The charges were originally filed Jan. 10.
- Casey Henderson, 30, of Ashland, was sentenced to two concurrent prison terms totaling 12 months for the convictions of disrupting public service and domestic violence. Another domestic violence charge was dismissed. He received 110 days of jail credit, faces court costs and mandatory post release control for one to three years. The original charges were filed Feb. 27.
- Kenneth Ruble, 55, of Elyria, was sentenced to six months in prison for the conviction of possession of cocaine. He received 66 days of jail credit and faces court costs and an optional two-year post release control sanction. The original charge was filed Nov. 14, 2024.
- Ta’Shonn Jefferson, 25, of Blacklick, was sentenced to six months in prison for the conviction of deception to obtain a dangerous drug. He received 135 days of jail credit and faces court costs and an optional two-year post release control sanction. The original charge was filed April 5, 2022.
- Jessica Wypasek, 38, of Ashland, was sentenced to eight months in prison for the conviction of aggravated possession of methamphetamine. She received three days of jail credit. She faces court costs and an optional two-year optional post release control sanction. The original charge was filed Nov. 14, 2024.
Four people sentenced June 23
- Mahlon Schlabach, 18, of Danville, was sentenced to one year of community control for the conviction of failure to comply (a misdemeanor). He also faces a $500 fine, court costs and a three-year driver’s license suspension and 100 hours of community work service. The original charge was filed March 28.
- Darwin Gamboa, 38, of Cleveland, was sentenced to two years of community control for the conviction of carrying a concealed weapon and resisting arrest. He also faces a $500 fine, court costs and an optional two-year post release control sanction. The original charges were filed April 16, 2024.
- Greewod Lewis, 20, of Cleveland, was sentenced to two years of community control for the conviction of two counts of complicity. Lewis faces reserved prison terms, court costs and an optional two-year post release control sanction if prison is imposed. The original charges were filed Sept. 5, 2023.
- Luke Squire, 30, of Wellington, was sentenced to a prison term of 12 months, served concurrently to another separate conviction. He was convicted of aggravated possession of methamphetamine. A charge of possession of criminal tools was dismissed. He received 199 days of jail credit and faces court costs and an optional two-year post release control sanction. The original charges were filed Dec. 13, 2018. In a separate conviction, he was sentenced to two prison terms totaling five to six years to be served consecutively. That imprisonment stems from the convictions of having weapons under disability, aggravated trafficking of methamphetamine with a firearm specification. Two other charges were dismissed. He received 136 days of jail credit, faces a $7,500 fine plus court costs and a mandatory post release control sanction of up to three years. The charges were filed Feb. 7.
Four people sentenced June 30
- Shane Hogle, 30, of Mansfield, was sentenced to five years of community control for the conviction of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles. He faces up to 12 months of reserved prison time, a $250 fine plus court costs. If prison is imposed, he faces a mandatory five-year post release control sanction. The original charges were filed Jan. 27.
- Angelina Williams, 28, of Ashland, was sentenced to between 23 and 28.5 years in prison for the convictions of kidnapping, obstructing justice, possessing criminal tools and four counts of endangering children. Counts three and four merged with count two. She received 316 days of jail credit. She faces up to five years of post release control and court costs. The original charges were filed Aug. 21, 2024.
- Jeffery Atterholt, 55, of Ashland, was sentenced to three years of community control for the conviction of attempted felonious assault. The charge was amended. The charge of domestic violence was dismissed. He received 139 days of jail credit. He faces a $250 fine, court costs, reserved prison time and up to three years of post release control if prison is imposed. The original charges were filed Feb. 14.
- Dialonte Pippens, 27, of Cleveland, was sentenced to two years of community control for the convictions of aggravated possession of amphetamine and an OVI. Another OVI was dismissed. Pippens faces reserved prison time and fines totaling $525, court costs and a one-year driver’s license suspension. The charges were originally filed Dec. 10, 2024.
